The Colds

Caught a bad case of the colds Tuesday, I’ve been bed-bound for days now. I only managed to drag my sorry self to work to escape another boring “home sick” day. Meanwhile, some storm pictures I uploaded to my Flickr account have gained massive popularity, despite the fact that they were all available elsewhere to begin with. Update: Damn. Should’ve stayed home.

Aww. The girlfriend has the same, it’s going around the whole of Europe! (or the North anyway).

    Get well!

Too bad you didn’t get well for the weekend. Hopefully you’re getting well enough to go back to work tomorrow.

I’m almost over it now. Enough to get to work, at least. Now I just have to finish that damn installment.

I uploaded a new header, but due to crappiness on my part, regular visitors will probably have the old one cookied… I gotta flush the cookie more regularly…

The cold’s going around the US too! California anyway. Guess it’s just that time of year.

Interesting that you note the socialness of flickr resulting in more exposure… see, I hadn’t really thought of that aspect when designing zenphoto.

I have this great idea that I should run by you though — how ’bout the ability to “network” with other ZP installs and show their latest images or links? 🙂

I love this. However, I also definitely think this should be part of a plugin, rather than the core.

Things I see as instrumental in the wide appeal of Flickr is this:

    • The ability to “favourite” an image
    • The “user” aspect, i.e. a logged in user can comment, see additional sizes, edit their comments, and not have to fill in their user info.
    • The whole tagging aspect.
