No | March 04 – Happyjoy Issue

I started Noscope March around the 25th of february, with the idea of making movie posters I could submit to sites such as www.bloodforoil.org, or the likes.

I made one poster, which came out ok. You can see the poster here.

But I got so depressed when making it, that I took a walk and took some photos. The “Happyjoy Issue” is what came out of it. Something easy and pleasant to look at, with lots of sugar on top.

Such things are good for the eyes.

The music is by Kate, (www.n-heptane.com). You can download the song here.

I like it a lot. Especially the 1st one. Does photography play a large part in graphic design?

Well, no, I don’t think photography plays a large part in graphic design. As far as my experience with it, I’ve mainly seen it used for artwork that can be combined with graphic design assets such as in adverts, magazines etc.

I don’t like to call myself an artist, considering I come from a graphic design background, and whether or not these pieces are “works of art”, is up to viewers. However, objectively I’d put them in the “art” category… be it bad or good art.

Thanks, I’m happy about image #1 as well.

I know this has nothing to do with the images, but I just wanted to say that in the game Counter-Strike which I’m sure you have heard of, there is a weapon and it’s a sniper rifle. You have to normally zoom in or ‘scope in’ and shoot to be accurate, if you do not zoom. You noscope and it’s a random shot, and well it’s really cool when someone noscope’s. A random shot

A ‘noscope’ – a random shot. Heh, I never realized that, but now that you mention it, it makes perfect sense.

Thanks for putting it to my attention. I guess “a random shot” is actually also pretty descriptive of some of the pieces I’ve made, hehe.
